Why the Take-Two earnings call matters for GTA 6

This report does not include any GTA 6 sales, because the quarter ended in September. However, it is the last time Zelnick takes questions from analysts before launch. As GameSpot notes, he usually talks about the game’s business side, while Rockstar handles gameplay news.

In August, Take-Two kept its full-year forecast at $8.0 to $8.2 billion in net bookings. That year runs to March 31, 2027, so it includes the GTA 6 launch. Zelnick pointed to excitement around the November 19 release as one reason for that confidence.

What investors will watch

  • The yearly forecast. Does Take-Two keep, raise or cut the $8.0 to $8.2 billion target?
  • Pre-order demand. Take-Two rarely shares pre-order totals, but any comment will get attention.
  • The release date. Expect the November 19 date to be repeated again.
  • Other games. NBA 2K27 launched in September, and Judas and the next BioShock still have no dates.

What we already know about GTA 6 demand

Rockstar and Take-Two have not shared pre-order numbers. However, analytics firm Sensor Tower estimates around 7.7 million digital pre-orders across PS5 and Xbox, worth about $751 million, as reported by Dexerto on November 4. These figures are estimates, not official sales, and they leave out boxed copies.

For context, Take-Two said in 2013 that GTA 5 made $800 million on its first day and $1 billion in three days. You can read more about prices in our GTA 6 pre-order and price news.

Zelnick has also been talking ahead of the call. In a WSJ interview covered by GamesRadar on November 5, he called piracy “a fact of life”. He added that Take-Two would respond with legal and technical work if it becomes a real problem.

Warning

Do not expect news on GTA 6 Online or a PC version from this call. Take-Two has not announced either one, so treat any claim you see on social media as unconfirmed until Rockstar says otherwise.

FAQ

Will Take-Two reveal GTA 6 sales on November 9?

No. The game is not out yet, and the report covers July to September. GameSpot expects the next report, covering launch sales, in February 2027.

Could the call bring a GTA 6 delay?

Nothing points that way. Pre-load opens on November 10, and Rockstar has already confirmed the midnight unlock times. Check our GTA 6 launch round-up for every confirmed detail.
