If you are hoping to jump into GTA 6 with friends on November 19, you will have to wait. Grand Theft Auto VI launches as a single-player game, and an online mode is expected later.
What was said
On September 18, 2026, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said in an interview that the multiplayer component of GTA 6 would launch in 2027. Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed a date or announced the online mode.

What happens to GTA Online?
Take-Two has said it will keep supporting the current GTA Online after GTA 6 launches, so your GTA V characters are not going away.
A familiar pattern
Rockstar has launched online modes separately before. GTA Online arrived on October 1, 2013, two weeks after GTA V, and Red Dead Online entered beta about a month after Red Dead Redemption 2.
