Grand Theft Auto VI comes in two editions. Here is what you get for your money and which one makes sense for you.

Key Facts

  • Standard: $79.99, full game
  • Ultimate: $99.99, full game plus bonus content
  • Pre-order bonus (both): Vintage Vice City Pack

Standard Edition ($79.99)

The full single-player game on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. If you just want the story and the open world, this is all you need.

Ultimate Edition ($99.99)

Everything in the Standard Edition, plus extra vehicles, weapons, outfits and in-world businesses that unlock as the story progresses. Consequence reports that Standard owners can upgrade later.

Which should you buy?

  • Buy Standard if you mainly care about the story, or want to wait for reviews before spending more.
  • Buy Ultimate if you know you will spend hundreds of hours in Leonida and want the extras from day one.

Pro Tip

Because an upgrade path has been reported, the Standard Edition is the safer choice if you are unsure. You can decide after launch.

Warning

Physical copies are code-in-box versions that still download the full game, so you need the same free space either way.
