GTA 6 map guide: every region of Leonida explained

From Vice City to Mount Kalaga: every officially revealed region of Leonida, with the real places that inspired them.

Original neon synthwave artwork: city skyline, palm trees and a grid horizon at sunset

GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional version of Florida. The map is reportedly around three times larger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s playable area. These are the regions Rockstar has officially shown.

Key Facts

  • State: Leonida (based on Florida)
  • Main city: Vice City (based on Miami)
  • Officially shown regions: 6

Vice City

The neon heart of Leonida and a fictional Miami: beaches, nightclubs, high-rises and the busiest streets in the state. Vice City first appeared in the original 1997 Grand Theft Auto before starring in Vice City (2002) and Vice City Stories (2006).

Leonida Keys

Based on the Florida Keys, this chain of islands is linked by long bridges and full of boats and small fishing towns. It is where Jason has been working for Brian Heder.

Grassrivers

Inspired by the Everglades, Grassrivers is a huge wetland of airboats, swamps and wildlife. Expect it to be a favourite for chases and hiding from the police.

Port Gellhorn

A faded resort town on the Gulf Coast, with an industrial port that has seen better days.

Ambrosia

An inland region built around a sugar refinery that powers the local economy, with a rough biker scene.

Mount Kalaga

Mount Kalaga National Park covers Leonida’s wild north: forests, trails, hunting and off-road driving.

Pro Tip

Browse every article tagged to a region using the region links at the bottom of each page, or start with Vice City.
